Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 stick butter softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup white chocolate chunks
- 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
- 1 cup candied cherries*
If you cannot find candied cherries, you can substitute dried cherries. Place the dried cherries in a bowl and cover them with boiling water to soften them. Let them soak for 7-8 min then thoroughly drain them. If you do not soak them, you can use more than 1 cup.
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 °F. In a medium bowl, with an electric mixer, cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Set aside. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add milk then add flour, soda and salt to butter mixture. In another bowl, combine nuts, cherries and white chocolate. Then add to mixture, stirring only to blend. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake for approximately 11-13 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes about 36-40 cookies.
